Phillip and Eileen Blume are internationally award-winning photographers and socially conscious creatives who believe in the power of visual media to change the world. They have expanded their wedding brand to clients worldwide and run a successful small-town studio. They invest strongly in personal projects, such as their 2011 documentary film "Lost Boys of Paradise," which screened nationwide to benefit children in third world slums. As educators, the Blumes have been seen on CreativeLIVE PhotoWeek and speak widely on the art and business of photography. Their frequent speaking engagements include WPPI in Las Vegas, ShutterFest in St. Louis, Showit UNITED near Phoenix, state PPA organizations, and many more. Phillip is a contributor to Shutter Magazine (available in Barnes & Noble), and the pair live with their children in rural Georgia.

WHAT IS COMEUNITY?
he ComeUnity Workshop is designed to bring your art, business, and life into sharp focus, giving you practical tools for real success. Make plans now to retreat with internationally recognized instructors Phillip and Eileen Blume to their private studio in the rural South; then prepare yourself for the intimacy and intensity of this unique, three-day experience.
omeUnity is a different kind of photographer retreat. Over three days in a beautiful and intimate environment (Phillip and Eileen Blume's personal home and private, state-of-the-art studio), attendees focus intensely on striking the crucial balance among artistic skill, business savvy, and life structure to create their own meaningful, long-term success. Interactive classroom discussions and hands-on styled shoots lead into evening dinner conversations and community building.
his workshop is not for everyone. It is designed specifically for two types of photographer. Firstly, if you're ambitious and motivated to get things right in your business from the start, ComeUnity is for you. We believe a solid foundation is the best investment any business can make, and it returns dividends. Secondly, if you feel discouraged in business or have lost your passion for photography, ComeUnity is for you. The relationships and candor that we will build together through classroom interaction, styled shoot instruction, and dinner table conversation all go beyond the superficial. We believe in going deep to intertwine business strategy with life purpose to drive you forward with passion.
omeUnity is not a "shoot shop" only (although its modeled, portfolio-building shoots are one valuable aspect), nor is it an entertainment-style workshop. Rather it is an intense crash course designed to get the professional photographer's business up and running more strongly once and for all via a multi-dimensional, holistic approach.
s instructors at some of the world's biggest and best-known photo conferences, ComeUnity creators Phillip and Eileen Blume became discouraged by what they viewed as "the narrow scope and disconnected nature of commercialized information" being sold to "masses of photographers in impersonal settings." Many of the photographers they met were desperate for more practical information to profit their businesses, while yet others desperately sought solutions to keep unwieldy businesses from overtaking their personal relationships and health (not to mention quenching their original passion for photography). It seemed an obvious and vicious cycle to the Blumes, who could relate to the struggle through personal experience. Their own hardships taught them that a dis-unified approach to business would never work, yet the industry's imbalanced approach seemed to set up photographers for failure. The Blumes' ultimate success story opened the door for them to share their business expertise with students in this ideal new format -- from safe within a more intimate, hands-on, barriers-free community!
his repeating chain ultimately binds "life" with "purpose." We want to give you a fresh perspective that will both reinvigorate your business and reignite your passion for photography. That passion is what drew you to photography in the first place. Last but certainly not least, our goal is to provide a safe place that fosters strong human community. So you'll have a network to help secure your success and sustain your forward momentum.
